RUDOLPH AND BULLYING
I've mentioned one of my favorite School Counseling Blogs before by Danielle Schultz. This is just another wonderful idea that she recently shared. This Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Bullying lesson was perfect for my students this holiday season. I planned to just do it with 5th graders but ended up showing the video K-5, followed up with a few discussion questions, taken from Danielle's blog.
Afterward, the students wrote letters of support to Rudolph. The assignment was to pretend they were a bystander and saw the bullying happen. What would you say to Rudolph to encourage him or to help him in this bullying situation. I created a bulletin board with a few of the best letters. Pictures of the bulletin board are posted below.

RUDOLPH AND FRIENDSHIP
Over the years I realized I didn't like the focus of my lessons to have such a negative connotation by constantly talking about the "B" word. So I changed up this lesson to focus more on the "friendship" qualities that were displayed throughout the movie. The lesson plan is below.
